I'm allliiiivvveeeeeee!
I had a feeling I would fall hard off the blogging wagon with work being crazy and the marathon being over. If this were Oregon Trail, I would definitely have drowned in the river or died of dysentary at this point. I did most of my prime blogging and blog-reading at work (shut it, you do it too) and with new responsibilities and lots of other stuff going on like LIFE, I've let it slide. But I've missed it and have some new ideas on how to keep up with writing/reading so I'm hopefully back.
Not that you guys have cared. :-/ I only got one comment wondering where I was and, unless I missed it, I didn't see an amber alert out looking for a short Latina girl who fancies herself a 'runner.' Bastards.
There's been all sorts of stuff that I want to catch up on and I figured I'd start with the easiest one, which is the 'what now?' post and then spread the other stuff across a couple of updates so I don't bombard you with one, monster recap. But I'm planning on posting about my FABULOUS trip to Portland to visit Jen (& even Zach was there for part of it!) A post on my fun, relaxing week in LA visiting the fam, and also my Pacific Palisades/Will Rogers State Park 10K race report are coming up. Some awesome companies have contacted me to review their products, so there will also be some schwag reviews soon. Lots of good stuff!
On to the race calendar!! So, here are my upcoming races for the rest of the year:
July 19th - Napa-to-Sonoma Half Marathon with the ROHOs
July 26th - San Francisco (half) Marathon with lots of bloggy friends, in honor of Tara's Bday
October 4th - Cowtown Half Marathon (goal = half PR)
November 15th - Malibu Inaugural Marathon (training run for CIM)
December 6th - California International Marathon (goal = new marathon PR!)
I'm pretty sure this is all that I'm doing (although I wouldn't put it past the girls to talk me into something ELSE) for the remainder of the year.
Initially, I wanted to PR at NtoS but it's looking like it'll be a scorcher and also, let's face it, I've been run-slacking as much as I've been blog-slacking. I've still been working out and have become a huge fan of kickboxing classes at my gym, but I've lost the mojo for running and I need to get it back. I think I just got tired after putting so much time, energy and focus on SD. I needed a physical and mental break. But I am readdddyyyyyyy to get it all back.
I have some ideas for what races I'd like to run next year, but let's take it one year at a time, yeah? Hope everyone is well and I'll be catching up on reading blogs ASAP!
What now? Upcoming races

YAY! Glad you are back! I've been a faithful reader forever and I've missed your fun updates. Sorry I've been to shy to comment before. Your running friend in Florida!
Yo! I like the new blog format - glad to see you are back in action. Hope you had fun in LA - looking forward to seeing you again in Sept.
Glad to have you back and with a new format to boot!
good that you are back and good luck training for al those nice races
I didn't send out an APB 'cause I knew where you were! :)
I am concerned about your race on the 45th of October, though...
Sounds like a great rest of the year schedule.
Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you have some great races planned for the second half of the year. I alwyay feel like I need to take a haitus after a long training season. Good for you.
I haven't been following your blog for too long but it's been a great read. You're witty and very entertaining. Thanks so much. I've been inspired to do more running in my life thanks to you. Keep it Up!! My security word to post this is MALIBU. Must be a sign.
YAY you are back! And I didn't send out an alert since I chat with you via twitterland. :) I totally know what you mean about life taking over.. that's the story of my life too. Glad you are alive and well and slowly making a comeback :) See you in two weeks! <3
ohhhhh we have a new look too!!! where did you find it?
YAY i am glad you are back! i knew where you were so i didnt need to comment :) cant wait for all the races, recaps, etc coming up!!!
Love the new look!!
I am hoping to half PR at San Jose (same day as Cowtown). What schedule/plan are you planning on using to train after SF? I am hoping to sub 2-hour.
nice looking blog girl and we HAVE missed you - I was just thinking that you were busy and would be back - as you are! Get back into the running fold - you've got a lot of races to be getting ready for!
You got a new look!
Can't wait to hear more about your vacation.
You've got a lot on your plate in the next few months. I felt/feel the same way after SD, I needed a BREAK from running and putting all my energy into running. Tri training has really lifted my spirits though I'd love to branch out and try new classes at the gym. Never tried kick boxing!
Are you doing Malibu, I am umming and ahhing!
I'm glad your back :) :) sounds like you've got a busy, yet exciting year! :) twittering has kept me quite busy-- more so than blogging & i'm glad we are tweet buddies!
love the layout too... cuteee!!
I only got one comment wondering where I was and, unless I missed it, I didn't see an amber alert out looking for a short Latina girl who fancies herself a 'runner.' Bastards. ...
TYPICAL!1! Blame the victims! You're the one who ran away! Did it ever once occur to you to think, "How is my behavior affecting Glaven?"
I bet it didn't! And you call me a b@sta@rd?
Welcome back, anyway.
I like the new look.
Sorry to be so hard on you. Hope it doesn't scare you away fro another month.
Welsome back!! I really like the new blog format, it looks great. You have lots of races ahead. Can't wait to read about all the products you get to review!
cool new look! i would totally have amber alerted you but i was on hiatus too so i didn't know! :)
well, glad you are back with all those cool races lined up. looking forward to more of your gym observations...
Welcome back Miss I-slide-in-and-out-of-LA-without-getting-in-a-run-with-Billy.
Can't believe you ran the Will Rogers 10K! I had a couple of friends running in it but decided to sleep in rather than show up to cheer. Would've been there fer sure if I knew you were running it!
Anyway, nice new look. I'll see you at SF and at Malibu. None of the others I don't think.
Yay and welcome back! This looks like a terrific schedule!
Goodness knows I'm behind on blog reading after being out of the country for 2 weeks and taking another to catch up on my real life. But I love blogs, so I'm going to try to catch up and get in the game with posting again, too!
I was wondering where you were!
Welcome back! I can't wait to read all of your recaps.
If you're looking for something for next year, it's the last year for the full Gaparilla Marathon in Tampa at the end of February. I'm 95% sure I'll be there.
First of all, I love the new look of your blog!
I think there's nothing wrong with taking a break from running and blogging, esp. after having run a PR or completed some other major event (I might do the same later, as a matter of fact). Besides, we/I knew you were up in Portland for a while (can't hide in blogger world :-).
Good luck with your upcoming races. You have heard that a bunch of folks may be at Vineman/Barb's Race next year, right?
is that a little twitter bird i see in the top right hand corner??? haha wooohooooooooooooo for all the races we have coming up! You're gonna rock Cowtown and CIM will be your bitch fo sho!
Love your race plan, and I indeed posted an Amber Alert...
Love the page in your new format... Did you miss any of the old stuff when re-formatted?
Glad you are back, and stay here.... please...
